Milestones

The brothers Bernhard and Georges Alpstaeg found swisspor AG in Boswil, Switzerland. The foundation of our success story is laid. With the acquisition of Kork AG and Baukork AG, we launch the production of EPS and PUR/PIR insulation materials.

Wannerit comes along and gets us in top shape. We learn how packaging works and can now produce molded parts from EPS. And expand our product range.

Thanks to the acquisition of Luxit Isolations SA (now swisspor Romandie SA) in Châtel-St-Denis (CH), we are expanding. Into the French-speaking part of Switzerland, even into the French sales territory. And continue to grow.

We continue our journey in a northerly direction. In Dankerode (DE), we take over the production and sales company swisspor Deutschland GmbH.

We become active in Ploiesti (RO) with the founding of S.C. swisspor SA. The first insulation production plant of swisspor Polska sp. z o.o. in Chrzanóv goes into operation. It strengthens our position in the East and in the Eastern European growth market.

In Mörschwil (CH), we acquire Dörig Fenster Service AG and expand our window production range. The companies Vaparoid AG in Turtmann (CH) from the sealing sheet sector and Isosystem Dulliken AG in Dulliken (CH) are added. Thus, our portfolio continues to unfold.

Sales and distribution in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino will be merged in the sales company swisspor AG in Steinhausen (CH). We are thus uniting and pooling our strengths.

The second plant in Poland is opened. swisspor Polska sp. z o.o. in Janów Podlaski (PL) intensifies our commitment in the East.

100 years after its foundation, we take over Eternit (Schweiz) AG with its two plants in Niederurnen (CH) and Payerne (CH). Promat AG in Rickenbach (CH) becomes part of us. With the purchase of Herzog AG in Müllheim (CH), we expand our range of windows. And move forward in big steps.

The third plant in Poland follows. Thanks to swisspor Polska sp. z o.o. in Miedzyrzecz (PL), we are further expanding our network.

With the acquisition of the insulation manufacturer Prima and its three production plants in Rosenau (AT), Stadl-Paura (AT) and Völs (AT), we are expanding into Austria.

The large swisspor AG logistics center for all five manufacturing plants is being built in Boswil-Bünzen. Our new hub.

The fourth plant of swisspor Polska sp. z o.o. is built in Poland. Through the acquisition of the Romanian Isopor S.R.L. in Cluj (RO), we are increasing our capacity. And increase output. With the acquisition of Airofom AG (now Alporit AG, Rothrist branch) in Rothrist (CH), we sharpen our know-how for technical insulation.

We start operations in the newly built production and storage facilities of swisspor Romandie in Châtel-St-Denis (CH). Our next milestone is reached.

The new factory building with warehouse for the production of XPS insulation materials is ceremoniously opened in Boswil (CH). We are the first Swiss XPS manufacturer. And the only one.

With swisspor Romandie SA, we open a second site in western Switzerland in Châtel St. Denis (CH) and start swissporPIR production. Our next step forward.

In Nittenau (DE), we build the plant SP Elemente Nittenau GmbH & Co. KG and start the production of construction systems for the wet area. We thus open up a new market. Our Promat moves into its new location in Münchwilen (CH).

Daspag and Wagner System AG are new members of our company. Our VHF product range is expanded with door and window frames. We take over the traditional Swiss company Zürcher Ziegeleinen from Regensdorf (ZH) from the listed Wienerberger Group. Now we can do more than just clay.

The Swisspearl Group, headquartered in Niederurnen (GL), is expanding its international market presence and production sites by acquiring the Danish company Cembrit, headquartered in Aalborg (Denmark).
